(Waterloo): Today, we are proud to announce that Strassburger Windows and Doors raised $40,000 at the 8th Annual Dennis Strassburger Golf Tournament in support of children’s mental health at Lutherwood.

Each year, Strassburger Windows and Doors hosts the tournament to bring their friends and business partners together to enjoy a great day of golf and to raise funds to support children’s mental health in Waterloo Region. This year they raised $40,000 that Lutherwood will use to support programs and initiatives for children who struggle with serious mental health challenges to help them find solutions and develop strategies to cope.

“Strassburger Windows and Doors and the Strassburger family are long-term supporters of children and youth in our community,” said Donna Buchan, Executive Director of Lutherwood Child and Family Foundation. “At the tournament, I saw many familiar faces of people whose loyalty and commitment bring them to this sold out event each year. We are so grateful to everyone for opening their hearts and making a huge difference to the children who really need the love, support and care that our programs offer.”

Lutherwoodis a not-for-profit health and social service organization that supports youth with mental health issues, workers looking for employment and people at risk of being homeless. It also operates Safe Haven Shelter. Its services are accessed by more than 15,000 people annually in Waterloo Region and Wellington County.

"I like the idea of 'collective impact.' Instead of individual organizations each working towards our own impact, Lutherwood brought us together with other mental health service providers to pool resources and ideas for a national impact."
