Child & Parent Place (CAPP)
Separation and divorce situations are hard on all family members. It can be particularly difficult for a parent and child to keep their relationship strong when they do not live together. Lutherwood’s Child & Parent program helps separated/divorced parents and non-custodial parties maintain relationships with their children by offering a safe, child-focused and neutral environment for visits and exchanges.

Two Interim Virtual Service Options
At Child and Parent Place (CAPP), we are always working to provide safe, neutral, and child-focused services. With this in mind, we are pleased to introduce two Interim Virtual Services during the pandemic and throughout the recovery phase.
Virtual Visitations: Child and Parent Place staff will remotely supervise Virtual Visits between visiting parents and children. Devices that can be used to access this service include smartphones, tablets, or laptops by clicking a link sent by CAPP through Chrome or Firefox browsers; families are not required to download or purchase any additional software. Once visits have been scheduled, CAPP staff will email the link for the scheduled virtual visit.
Electronic Exchange of Correspondence: Using an electronic device, families will have the opportunity to safely share artwork, letters, or photos in a “pen pal” type of correspondence through the Child and Parent Place program. Staff review all correspondence in advance of delivery to ensure program requirements are met.
Please note that these virtual service options are being launched as a temporary solution for limited situations such as the current pandemic. Our goal is to offer these two opportunities to maintain contact between parents and children during service interruption.
To Apply: Child and Parent Place requires a letter of agreement from each participant or Court Order specifying Virtual Access. CAPP staff will then reach out to clients directly to review virtual access information and obtain a signed Interim Access Agreement. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we approach these exciting new ways of connecting parents and children. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the process, please feel free to contact myself or Melissa to discuss further.
