Lutherwood offers support for families struggling with a youth having a crisis.
Mobile Crisis, jointly operated with our Carizon partners, provides a variety of supports and services that focus on an urgent need for stabilization of youth (up to their 18th birthday) and families in crisis. It provides rapid response to urgent matters but is not meant to replace community emergency services.
Mobile Crisis Service workers respond within 2 business days, when needed, to help children, youth and families develop coping/safety plans and find appropriate links to community supports and services. This service operates free of charge, Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. and can be accessed through Front Door.
Located at Lutherwood's Betty Thompson Youth Centre, Safe Haven Shelter offers Waterloo Region youth a safe alternative to living on the street. Serving vulnerable youth 12 years of age and up to their 18th birthday who are at risk of being homeless, this program offers immediate admission and services for up to 10 youth on a 24 hour/7 day a week basis.
