Bell Let's Talk Community Fund

We received a $20,000 funding grant from Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund to expand our pilot Connect Parenting Group program to help parents and guardians build healthier relationships with their teenage child, support their child’s mental health needs and access other community services as required. The funds were raised through the 2015 Bell Let's Talk's campaign.

Marty's Workshop and Bike Program

Under the guidance of tech teacher Marty Wilson, youth at Lutherwood's Children's Mental Health Centre can learn skills that could lead them into a career in the trades. Over the past year, they have built a small house right in the centre of their busy classroom and through our bike program, students are given a used bike, along with the skills to repair it, customize it, and make it their own. These programs are made possible by the generous donations of many friends who contributed materials and their used bikes. Thank you!

Ian Inglis

$elling Home$ for Lutherwood

Ian Inglis has been a Realtor for over 30 years in our region and he’s a great guy with a big heart. In 2015, he vowed to raise $5000 through his campaign "$elling Home$ for Lutherwood", in which $100 from every home he sold in the Kitchener-Waterloo area was donated to Lutherwood's Children's Mental Health Centre.

Train The Trainer

Train the Trainer

Train the Trainer is hosted by Price Chiropractic & Fitness. Participants have fun turning fitness coaches into Superheroes and then reversing the roles to let the Price Fit Members train them for a night. Last year the event raised $2,270 for Lutherwood Recreational Therapy Program with 100% of the proceeds being used to purchase equipment to keep the kids active.

Hockey Helps The Homeless

Hockey Helps the Homeless

For three successful years, eight teams of local hockey players have enjoyed a fantasy hockey experience, getting to play and hang out with NHL Alumni. The fun event raises awareness of a not-so-fun community issue: homelessness. The most recent tournament raised $155,000 to support 5 homeless prevention agencies in KW.

A Blooming Affair Fashion Show

For the past two years, The Blooming Affair Fashion show has donated a portion of its raffle proceeds to Lutherwood's children's mental health programs. It is a night to look forward to each year. A fun, flashy celebration of local fashion.

The Home Depot

The Orange Door Campaign is a fundraising program that unites all The Home Depot stores associated with the Home Depot Canada Foundation in their efforts to help put an end to youth homelessness in Canada. For two years in a row, proceeds raised through The Orange Door Project by associates at The Home Depot Waterloo and Kitchener West stores supported Lutherwood’s Safe Haven Youth Shelter.

Lutherwood’s Safe Haven was also honoured with a Community Grant of $40,000 in order to make some improvements to our shelter. Thank you Home Depot!
