You Can Help Kids Believe

How did it start? Did I do something wrong? Why is this happening to me?

How can you answer a worried young person when there is no easy response?

The sad truth is that even before the pandemic, over 26,000 kids in Waterloo Region were struggling with with their mental health. For many of them, it is hard to understand why their mental health is suffering at all. Will they ever feel better? It is so easy to feel alone.

Mental health concerns can happen to anyone and can be different for every young person who suffers from it. What does feel the same is the sense of isolation and fear of a bleak future.

Lutherwood’s Children Mental Health Centre and Safe Haven Youth Services are here for kids, youth, and their families to support them through these difficult and emotional times. The skilled and compassionate care given by Lutherwood staff is the foundation of our life-changing services.

Our programs and services are human powered by staff with a passion and integrity for the health and safety of children. But we cannot do this alone; access to our compassionate care and services starts with friends like you. People who believe that kids can’t wait and their wellbeing is a community priority.

Mental health concerns can alter and change a child’s entire life. Living through a global pandemic has only deepened these issues and demand for some of Lutherwood's mental health services has more than doubled.

Here is where you can help. Support from our community has never been more important. While the pandemic has affected mental health, it has also decreased donations. You can help us reach our target of $127,000 by December 31st so that we can continue to provide these critical supports for young people struggling with their mental health. With your generosity, success stories are still possible.

The final impact on children’s mental health from the ongoing pandemic is still unknown. But we do know that kids are in crisis and need help now.

In this season of giving, I reach out to you as friends and supporters of Lutherwood and invite you to make a difference in the life of a child who is struggling right now. Your donation will help young folks heal, thrive, and believe in a brighter future. What an incredible gift to give.

P.S. With one in every five kids struggling in our region (odds are you know someone who is), your gift today lets them know you care.
