Employment Ontario Employment Services
Employment Services through Employment Ontario are designed for individuals who would like help finding and maintaining jobs. Job seekers can make use of our Resource Centres, attend one of our informative workshops and get help from our experienced staff.
Assisted Employment Support
Employment Advisors offer one-to-one employment support to help eligible participants with all aspects of a job search including:
- Resume and cover letter writing
- Effective job search strategies
- Networking and social media presence
- Interview preparation
- Exploring career options
- Support completing Second Career program applications
There is not a one-size-fits-all service. That’s why in addition to the in-person employment services available at our 3 locations in Waterloo Region and Guelph-Wellington, we offer the flexibility and convenience of an online employment advisor. For more information about this option please visit our Online Employment Counselling page.
Job Development Assistance
Employment Consultants help eligible participants develop their skills and gain experience through supports such as:
- One day job shadows
- Short term job trials
- Subsidized on-the-job training opportunities
- Direct employment placements
Participants in this stream of service are identified through their work with an Employment Advisor.
- Unemployed or working less than 20 hours per week
- Not in full time education or training
- Legally able to work in Canada
