Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Director of Operations, assumes responsibility for meeting the dietary and food service requirements of the residents of Luther Village on the Park. Assists in the screening, hiring and training of food service workers and kitchen staff. Oversees the daily operations of the department including Sunshine Dining Room, kitchen, Martin’s Restaurant, Village Shoppe and catering. Tasks include ordering, preparation, and storage of food and supplies.

Employment Guide:
Graduate from a recognized Food Service program or a related post-secondary program. Must have three to five years experience in the food services industry, preferably working within a health care setting. A member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management an asset. A strong background in nutrition dietary management is essential for this position. Have had previous experience developing menus to meet the dietary needs of the senior’s population. Must demonstrate empathy for and understanding of the needs of seniors, their families and the professionals engaged in their care. Must be knowledgeable of and capable of interpreting legislation related to the food services industry. Membership of the society of Nutrition management and Canadian Food Serve Supervisor Association an asset.
