New Skills for Safer Living Group

Skills

Self Help Alliance, CMHA and Lutherwood are excited to offer the Skills for Safer Living group to youth aged 14-16 and their guardians. If your child has experienced thoughts of suicide, self-harm and/or are engaging in self-harming behaviours this group will help them:

  • Learn to better understand their feelings and how to talk about them
  • Decrease the thinking patterns that may be contributing to self-harm or thinking about suicide
  • Gain control and choices in crisis situations to increase safety

As a guardian, Skills for Safer Living will help you:

  • Increase understanding of risk and protective factors
  • Increase ability to respond to suicidal/self-harming thoughts and behaviours
  • Understand skills being taught to youth

To register, contact Angela Weber-Thompson at 519-623-9383 x 4306. Please inquire at your earliest convenience as space is limited

Safer Living Poster
“I’m proud to be part of an organization that supports the community. The staff that I work with are wonderful and give me the sense that I am home. It gives me immeasurable pride when anyone asks me where I work, and I can say that I am working at Lutherwood.”
