$110,000 Raised to Help Children

Waterloo – Lutherwood’s Annual Steps for Kids raised a record $110,000 to support children with mental health issues in our community. More than 650 people walked, jogged and ran the three or five kilometer routes on a beautiful, warm Sunday morning.

“It was absolutely amazing to be surrounded by so many friends from our community,” reflected Donna Buchan, Executive Director of the Lutherwood Child and Family Foundation. “So many people volunteered, fundraised and came to join the conversation on mental health and how to beat the stigma that makes many children suffer in silence. The funds raised this weekend will provide additional therapies, activities and supports that are not covered by traditional funding. A special thanks to RBC for being our event sponsor and fielding a large team of participants.”
