Compass Program Returns
WATERLOO, January 4, 2012 - Lutherwood is pleased to announce that our COMPASS program has returned. COMPASS supports 16 – 30 year olds who are looking to find and maintain meaningful employment. Funded through Service Canada, this comprehensive two-part program provides young workers with an opportunity to enhance skills and gain hands-on work experience in a construction or trade field.
The first part of the program consists of participation in workshops designed to prepare individuals for full-time work. Workshops topics include:- Construction and Trade Orientations
- Employer Expectations
- Resume Development
- WHMIS Certification
- Basics of Fall Protection
- Customer Service
- Workplace Occupational Health and Safety
- Employment Standards and Human Rights
- Workplace Tours
