The Housing Stability Training Centre offers training sessions aimed at providing knowledge and skills for those who work in the housing sector and related areas.

Training Calendars

Calendars outlining training opportunities are released twice a year, typically in late summer and early in the New Year.   Five core workshops are offered annually or bi-annually including:

• Housing Stability System 101
• Understanding Ontario Works
• Understanding Income Supports
• Supports to Maintain Housing
• Understanding Subsidized Housing

In addition, workshops are offered on emerging issues including communication techniques, addictions, mental health and self care.

Foundations in Housing Stability Certificate

Developed in 2010, this certificate is awarded in recognition of individuals who have attended 8 workshops offered by the Housing Stability Training Centre. The training is focused on building knowledge, skill and values in housing stability. The core workshops include training in each of the components of housing stability – housing, income and support.
