We are grateful to the Robert and Judith Astley Family Foundation for their pledge of support for the Music Therapy program. The Astley Family Foundation supports innovative projects, primarily in Waterloo Region, that encourage personal development of troubled youth, to aid in the prevention of destructive behaviours. The Astley family told us “We are excited to be involved with the Music Therapist program at Lutherwood as it is an innovative program that encourages communication, listening and sharing of emotions.” We thank them for their generous gift to sustain this important program.

The Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation

The Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation has supported a number of Lutherwood initiatives over the years and we are very grateful for their partnership. This year, the Betty Thompson Youth Centre’s Bathroom Renovation was chosen as a recipient of their generosity.

We also extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to the Community Foundation (Community Fund and Erb & Good Family Funeral Home Community Fund) for their generous support in 2010 to our Capital Campaign.  Through the Ontario Endowment for Children and Youth in Recreation Fund, the Foundation has also generously approved a grant for equipment for the new Therapeutic Recreation Fitness Room at our Benjamin Road site.

The Cambridge & North Dumfries Community Foundation

Lutherwood gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Cambridge & North Dumfries Community Foundation, a public foundation serving the people of Cambridge and North Dumfries.  The Foundation builds permanently endowed charitable funds for the changing needs and opportunities of the community and provides grants to eligible charitable organizations in the areas of arts and culture, education and training, environment, health and social services, heritage, multiculturalism and recreation.  We are pleased that they have supported the School Based Counselling Program in Cambridge schools over the years and are grateful for their partnership.
