Join us Wednesday, October 12th for an evening of theatre and fun!

Lutherwood is combining theatre and Oktoberfest to bring you an exciting new event. On Wednesday, October 12th, join us in our accredited Oktoberfest tent at St. Jacob's Country Playhouse at 6:00 and be entertained by the Hofbrau Band while enjoying hors d'oeuvres, wine tasting and scotch nosing. At 8:00 PM, we will move into the theatre for a private performance of Blood Brothers, the award-winning play with a contemporary nature vs. nurture plot, revolving around fraternal twins who were separated at birth. After the play, join us again in the tent for dessert, coffee, tea and the opportunity to meet the cast! Tickets are $100 each with a $25 tax receipt. All proceeds go to Lutherwood's children's mental health programs.

Dennis Strassburger Memorial Golf Tournament
In late 2010, Dennis Strassburger of Strassburger Windows & Doors and a long time supporter of Lutherwood, passed away suddenly. His family and colleagues are planning a charity golf tournament in his memory and Lutherwood has been selected as the recipient of the proceeds!
The tournament will be held Monday, September 19th at Conestogo Golf & COuntry Club, and registration is now open! If you would like to participate in the tournament, please click here to access the brochure and registration form. We are thrilled to be a part of this event and hope you will come out and join us for a day of golf, camaraderie and fundraising.

BoardWalk 2009 – Steps for Kids
At the end of the evening, we were able to report on over $34,000 raised for children’s mental health programs. It meant a lot to have almost 100 Board members, staff, families and some of the Lutherwood clients enjoying the time together.

On the day of the event numerous Lutherwood staff contributed to make the event a success by setting up and cleaning up. It was wonderful to have all the help!
BoardWalk 2008 - Steps for Kids
The event took place in sweltering heat, with heavy rains threatening, on Thursday June 5th. Despite the weather conditions, over 60 people joined us for the 2 km walk around the grounds of Luther Village.
The top fundraisers included two members of both the Lutherwood and Lutherwood Child and Family Foundation Boards which collected donations totaling over $3000 each, a resident at Luther Village who raised $1100 in pledges, and three Lutherwood staff who each raised between $500 and $900 in pledges!
All proceeds are being applied to Lutherwood’s mental health programs and its emergency youth shelter (Safe Haven Shelter) at the Betty Thompson Youth Centre.
