Employment Services through Employment Ontario are designed for individuals who need help finding and maintaining jobs. Job seekers can make use of our Resource Centres, attend one of our informative workshops, get help from our Employment Advisors, and consult with our Employment Consultants.
This program is funded by Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
For Job Seekers
Our Resource Centres provide information on careers and occupations, the local labour market, training opportunities, apprenticeships and job search strategies. The Resource Centre is a walk-in, self-directed community resource centre open to the public, and is free to use.
Employment Advisors offer one-to-one employment support to help eligible participants with all aspects of a job search.
Employment Consultants help eligible participants develop their skills and gain experience through supports such as job trials, volunteer placements, job shadows, subsidized on-the-job training opportunities and direct employment placements. Participants are identified through their work with an Employment Advisor.
For Employers
Employers who are looking to hire staff can advertise job openings through the Resource Centre. Our staff can provide employers with screening and recruiting services to meet their business needs.
Employers may be eligible for training incentives to offset some of the costs of providing on-the-job training/work experience to a Job Connect participant.
Our free services include:
- Photocopying, faxing and printing
- Computers with internet access
- Telephones and phone message services
- Job posting boards
- Assistance with resume development, interview skills, job search strategies, career planning
- Workshops to help with your job search
- Information on apprenticeships, education, training and community resources
- Information for Internationally trained individuals including assistance with Credential Assessments
- Assistance with completing Second Career applications
