Compass
The Compass program is designed to support individuals, 16 – 30 years of age, to find and maintain meaningful employment. Compass is funded through Service Canada.
Building a Foundation for Success
Compass is a comprehensive two-part program that provides young workers with an opportunity to enhance skills and gain hands-on work experience in a construction or trade field. Part one of the program consists of participation in workshops designed to prepare individuals for full-time work. Workshops topics include:
- Construction and Trade Orientations
- Employer Expectations
- Resume Development
- WHMIS Certification
- Basics of Fall Protection
- Customer Service
- Workplace Occupational Health and Safety
- Employment Standards and Human Rights
- Workplace Tours
Part two of the program engages participants in a 14 week work placement with a local employer.
