Drawing on the expertise of multidisciplinary teams, we work with you to build on your strengths and develop strategies that help overcome challenges and achieve your goals.
Serving the Community
Children, youth and families have trusted our Mental Health Services for four decades to support them as they cope with serious emotional and behavioural challenges. We provide a complete range of preventative and supportive services in both in-house and community-based settings. Our innovative approaches and proven practices help families cope with life’s transitions and mental health challenges. Our mental health services include residential treatment and assessment, family counselling, community and school-based involvement.
Lutherwood is a leader in Employment Services . We offer a broad range of programs that help individuals find and maintain jobs, entrepreneurs launch small businesses and employers recruit and train employees. We also provide customized outplacement and adjustment services to help both employers and workers manage the difficult process of workplace downsizing.
Lutherwood's Housing Services helps individuals find permanent, safe and affordable housing. We provide a range of programs to assist people with finding and maintaining housing including assistance with loans towards rental arrears and deposits, service resolution support, public education, training and information on housing, and we operate an emergency residential shelter for 12-15 year olds.
As an extension of our work, Lutherwood provides services to seniors at Luther Village on the Park in Waterloo. This retirement community is for adults 55 years and older who desire an active lifestyle where they can maintain their independence as long as possible knowing that extra help with daily living activities is available as needed. Our residents appreciate knowing that any operating surplus generated in this beautiful community, is redirected into Lutherwood’s great work locally.
The Lutherwood Child and Family Foundation raises funds for Lutherwood’s not-for-profit community work. We work with our donors to direct their donations to support the program of their choice or to the area of greatest need. Donations help us operate a shelter for youth living on the street, reach children mentally shut off from the world, help young parents cope with newborns, purchase food for hungry youth, help youth re-integrate with their community and give children a Christmas who would otherwise do without.
